All-Christmas-music format change stunting did not seem to pack the ratings punch this time compared to the past few years. AC stations that switched often found 2 stations in the market trying to get the mistletoe kiss from Arbitron...without much result for either station. Oldies stations that switched often saw ratings dips. Has this stunt finally gotten stale for the Baby Boom? Do they have all the Christmas they want to hear already in the CD collections? Or do the playlists needed to upgraded and locally-customized from the standard safelists? Will there be fewer All-Christmas attempts next year? Or will advertiser interest keep the stunt going strong?
